Materials and structures

Brown and white kraft (typically 80–200 gsm), coated art paper, recycled or virgin fibre stocks; greaseproof and food-contact liners where the bag carries food. Handle, turn-over top and base reinforcement are chosen against the load — a gift bag and a bottle bag are not the same bag.

Structure

Side gusset lets the bag open flat for palletising but carry bulk; the top is rolled or turned over and the handle type is fixed by weight carried.

Printing, artwork and finishing

Flexo or offset printing, up to full-colour coverage with matte or gloss lamination, spot UV, foil and emboss. Paper handles, cotton-twist handles, ribbon and die-cut handles. Send the artwork and the intended load; we return a sample so you can test handle strength and folding before the run.

Compliance documents that come with the order

Declaration of Conformity (DoC) — issued against EU 1935/2004 and, for plastics, EU 10/2011, naming the material and the intended food contact conditions.
Material composition sheet — every layer, its material code and grammage, so your importer can register the packaging and complete PPWR documentation.
Migration / food contact test reports — from accredited third-party laboratories (SGS, TÜV, Intertek or equivalent), on request.
Recyclability statement — design-level statement of whether the structure is mono-material, how it sorts in EU collection streams, and what limits recyclability if it is multilayer.
Declaration on heavy metals and substances of concern — covering the sum-of-concentration limits under EU 94/62/EC (as amended).

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide the compliance documents my EU importer needs?

Yes. Every order ships with a Declaration of Conformity, a material composition sheet and a recyclability statement; migration test reports from accredited laboratories are provided on request. Under PPWR (Regulation (EU) 2025/40) your importer must be able to produce technical documentation within 10 days of a market surveillance request, so we prepare the file before the goods leave the production site.

What is the minimum order quantity?

It depends on the structure and the printing process — rotogravure, flexo, offset and digital runs all start at different quantities. Send us the item, size, quantity and artwork status and we confirm the exact MOQ together with the quotation, in writing.

Can you supply samples before production?

Yes. We first provide a plain or white-sample mock-up so you can check dimensions against your filling line, then a printed proof of your artwork. Sampling time depends on whether the structure is stock or bespoke — we confirm the dates with the quotation.

How do you work with buyers who have never sourced from China?

Four steps: you send the specification, we return a quotation with lead times and documents, we produce pre-production samples for approval, and we ship with the full document pack. You get a named contact, weekly production reports and photos at each stage — no surprises at the port.
